This is a Creative Writing Society. Creative Writing is a growing area at Third Level, one that is now widely recognised in the U.S. and the U.K. and gradually achieving a similar status in Ireland. However, most Students who wish to engage with creative writing must do so on their own time, on top of their other academic commitments. For this reason a good number of quality writers who simply did not have the time to do both were lost. Razor’s Edge teamed up with a creative writing course taking place in the college. The writers attending the course sacrificed their Thursday evenings and endeavoured to keep up with the gruelling demands of weekly assignments. This year, the course members and the Creative Writing Society published the first Mary Immaculate College Magazine dedicated to Creative Writing. This publication aims to provide a flavour of the diversity and richness of student writing. This society is for all of you who are interested in sharing your poetry and stories with like minded individuals. It is also a good way of improving you grasp of the English language. All are welcome.
