Online Petition to Ruairi Quinn, re. Allowances Cut

With the protest taking place today in Dublin, here is the link to the online petition aganist the cuts in regards to teacher's allowances:

Please sign this petition for Minister for Education & Skills Ruairi Quinn to show your support and that you denounce such measures.

As it stands the government have taken the decision to temporarily not pay allowances to new teachers with exceptional qualifications, including Primary Degrees, Masters' Degrees, Doctorates etc. as well as allowances such as yard duty, island bus, gaeltacht and gaelscoil.

This means newly qualified teachers will be earning less than those in the next room if they graduated the year before.
